When Cake Opera Co. was approached by bride-to-be Farzana Jamal to create a fabulous cake for her wedding day and we heard that Valentino red was to be our muse; we couldn't have been more inspired.

Working closely with her stunning décor palette of black, white, deep cobalt blue and the intensely sexy Valentino red, we pulled together a design that truly captured the over-the-top nature of haute couture.

Taking inspiration largely from Christian Lacroix's Spring 2008 Runway Collection with a brilliant spectacle of inky black splashes, tight pleats & ruffles and oversized blood red peonies, the cake also incorporates the beautiful embroidery on Farzana's jewel encrusted sari.
